Todd Coleman

Todd Coleman

Director of Neural Interaction Laboratory, UC San Diego

Todd P. Coleman received B.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering as well as Computer Engineering from the University of Michigan. He received a PhD from MIT in electrical engineering and did postdoctoral studies at MIT in neuroscience. He is currently an Associate Professor in Bioengineering and director of the Neural Interaction Laboratory at UCSD. His research is highly inter-disciplinary and lies at the intersection of bio-electronics, neuroscience, medicine, and applied mathematics. He is currently developing applications of his research on "epidermal electronics", featured in the journal Science in 2011.  Current projects include pregnancy monitoring, baby brain monitoring, and brain-computer interfaces for health, education, and entertainment applications.  Dr. Coleman is a science advisor for the Science & Entertainment Exchange (National Academy of Sciences).
